Research-based Teaching

What is research-based teaching?

Research-based teaching serves to stimulate a curiosity-driven approach to education. Students at Leiden are motivated to constantly question the essence of nature, the human mind and the complex interactions between their elements. From this starting point, innovations, new developments and solutions to old problems emerge.

How do the teaching programmes benefit from the research conducted in Leiden?

Leiden University strongly believes that the education it provides benefits directly from the high quality research that is carried out within the University itself, and that new fundamental knowledge is new intellectual capital. The most recent academic insights are immediately integrated into the courses.
